Welcome to Dollarology! Our goal is to help people clarify their options when making financial decisions. To that end, we offer the following:

The Dollarology Blog was born out of one family's efforts to make wise financial decisions. We started it to share what we’ve learned, pass on ideas, and offer encouragement and inspiration. There are many good sites out there for personal finance, but what we hope makes Dollarology special is our ability to bring clarity to complicated decisions. We do the research and crunch the numbers, then let people explore the results in a way that is lucid and accurate. Our goal isn’t to offer simplistic advice (“Buy a house for the mortgage interest deduction!”) so much as to illuminate your choices, so your decision, whatever it is, is informed. Our motto is, Run the numbers!
